  1. How do you get lens implants for a tiger? Or are human and tiger lenses similar in size and so implants for humans can be used in a tiger?
Very interesting anyway. My mother is an ophthalmologist, so I happen to know a bit about medicine - through checking the English versions of her papers I learned terminology and currently I'm correcting old translations and translating new chapters for an ophthalmology study book. I'm also a tigermaniac since 1982 (the year I got my first plush tiger), so the topic combination is very interesting for me. I always wonder who performs such procedures: veterinarians or human ophthalmologists? I've read about a cataract surgery on a young South China tiger and in that case he was the surgeon's first animal patient...

    1. We had them custom made for this patient in Germany by a company named Acrivet. Surgeries in animals are performed only by certified veterinary ophthalmologists world wide. I think this is the second case in the world and we are very happy with the excellent outcome ! Thank you for your interest and have a great week ! Dr. John Alfredo Kleiner.
